A water-treatment system should be selected according to more than its size or advertised capacity. The correct solution must suit your water source, water quality, required volume, intended use and installation environment.

Standard Systems and Custom-Engineered Solutions

For straightforward requirements, Hidro+ can supply and install proven standard systems such as kitchen filters, under-counter Reverse Osmosis units, whole-property filters and UV treatment systems.

However, an off-the-shelf product is not always suitable. Borehole conditions, high water consumption, limited installation space, unusual contaminants or specialised operational requirements may demand a completely different approach.

In these situations, our highly qualified in-house project engineer assesses the application and designs a system around the customer’s specific requirements. What We Consider Before Designing a System

Each installation begins with understanding the water and how it will be used. Important design considerations may include:

• Municipal, borehole, rainwater or another water source
• Incoming water quality and available water-test results
• Daily consumption and peak-volume requirements
• Required water flow and available pressure
• Drinking, cooking, household, commercial or specialised use
• Available installation space and environmental conditions
• Electricity, drainage, storage and backup-water requirements

These factors help us determine which treatment stages are genuinely required. Not every water source needs the same filtration process.

Systems and Treatment Technologies

Depending on the application, a Hidro+ installation may include one or more of the following:

• Kitchen and Point-of-Use Systems:
  Compact systems installed at a specific tap to provide treated water for drinking, cooking, food preparation or beverage service.
• Reverse Osmosis Systems:
  RO systems use a semi-permeable membrane to reduce dissolved salts and a wide range of other impurities. Installations range from household kitchen systems to higher-capacity commercial and institutional plants.
• Whole-Property Filtration:
  Systems installed at the main water-entry point can treat water supplied throughout a home, office, guest house, restaurant or other property.
• Borehole Water Treatment:
  Borehole water can differ significantly from one property to another. A treatment system may include sediment filtration, specialist filter media, UV disinfection, Reverse Osmosis or other stages selected according to the water-test results.
• Sediment, Carbon and Specialist Filtration:
  Different filters can be combined to address suspended particles, discolouration, unpleasant tastes and odours, chlorine, selected chemicals, metals or other water-quality concerns.
• UV Water Treatment:
  UV treatment can be incorporated as a final disinfection stage to reduce microbial contamination. Because UV performs best when the water is clear, appropriate pre-filtration may be included ahead of the UV unit.
• Remineralisation:
  Reverse Osmosis removes minerals together with unwanted dissolved substances. A remineralisation stage or Hidro+ Mineral Concentrate dosing system can be incorporated where a specified mineral content, pH profile or taste is required.
• Water Structuring and Frequency Treatment:
  Water-structuring and frequency-treatment technologies can be incorporated where these form part of the customer’s selected treatment approach or the intended final-water profile.
• Storage, Pumps and Distribution:
  Where required, an installation can include storage tanks, pressure pumps, dosing equipment, controls, dedicated taps and distribution lines. Backup storage can also be considered where continuity of supply is important.

Our Installation Process

1. Consultation and Assessment

We discuss your concerns, water source, intended use and volume requirements. A site assessment and water testing may be recommended where necessary.

2. System Recommendation or Custom Design

Where a standard system is suitable, we recommend the appropriate option. More complex applications are designed by our in-house engineer, with the required treatment stages, capacity and layout carefully planned.

3. Professional Installation

The system is installed with consideration for safe operation, reliable water flow, drainage, protection against leaks and convenient future maintenance.

4. Commissioning and Testing

Once installed, the system is flushed, checked for leaks and tested for correct operation. The treated water can also be assessed where applicable.

5. Ongoing Support

Hidro+ can provide filter replacements, complete system cleaning, performance checks and planned maintenance to help keep the installation working as intended.
