Filter Maintenance
Water Filter & Purification System Maintenance
Complete Maintenance – Not Just a Filter Change
Your water-filtration system works continuously to trap sediment, reduce contaminants and improve the quality of the water you use. Over time, the filters become saturated, while sediment, mineral deposits and other residue can accumulate inside the system.
Simply replacing the filter cartridges may therefore not be enough. Hidro+ provides professional maintenance that includes both the replacement of filters and the thorough cleaning of the complete purification system.
Why Regular Maintenance Matters
A neglected system may gradually lose water flow, pressure and filtration performance. Regular servicing helps to:
- Maintain consistent water quality and taste
- Restore efficient water flow and pressure
- Reduce the risk of leaks and unexpected breakdowns
- Prevent excessive build-up inside filter housings and components
- Protect RO membranes, pumps and other equipment
- Extend the working life of the system
What Our Maintenance Service Includes
Every system is different, so the work required will depend on its design, water source, condition and level of use. A typical service may include:
- System Inspection:
We inspect the complete system for visible wear, leaks, damaged components, loose connections and other signs that may affect its operation. - Filter Replacement:
Sediment, carbon, specialist and post-filters are replaced where required. We select the correct cartridges for the system and its intended application. - Complete System Cleaning:
Filter housings, caps and accessible internal components are thoroughly cleaned to remove accumulated sediment, residue and mineral deposits. Where appropriate, the system, water lines and storage components may also be sanitised before being returned to service. - RO Membrane and Performance Check:
For Reverse Osmosis systems, we assess water flow, pressure and membrane performance. Commercial RO membranes may require specialist cleaning when scaling or fouling begins to reduce system efficiency. - Component and Connection Checks:
Depending on the system, we may inspect the pump, pressure tank, reservoir, valves, tubing, connectors, taps, seals and O-rings. UV units, dosing systems and remineralisation stages can also be checked where fitted. - Flushing and Final Testing:
Once the service is complete, the system is reassembled, flushed and checked for correct operation and leaks. Where applicable, the treated water can be tested to confirm that the system is performing as expected.
Household and Commercial Systems
Hidro+ maintains water-filtration and purification systems used in homes, offices, restaurants, guest houses, lodges, healthcare facilities and other commercial or institutional environments.
Commercial systems generally process much larger volumes of water and may require more frequent inspections, performance monitoring and preventative maintenance. A planned maintenance schedule can help businesses reduce downtime and avoid unexpected interruptions to their water supply.
How Often Should Your System Be Serviced?
There is no single maintenance interval that suits every system. Service requirements depend on:
- The type of filtration or purification system
- Municipal, borehole, rainwater or other water sources
- The quality and sediment load of the incoming water
- Daily water consumption
- The type and capacity of the filters
- The manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations
Your system may need attention sooner if you notice reduced flow or pressure, unusual pump operation, leaks, changes in taste or odour, cloudy water, or declining RO performance.
Keep Your System Working as It Should
Whether you have a small kitchen filter, a whole-property filtration system or a commercial Reverse Osmosis plant, Hidro+ can assess its condition and recommend the appropriate maintenance.
Regular servicing protects more than the filters – it helps protect your complete water-purification system and the quality of the water it produces.
